High Point shot over 50%, including 46.7% in the second half, to lead the Panthers to the 77-44 win over the Presbyterian College men’s basketball team Saturday night in Big South action in High Point, N.C. Will Adams led the Blue Hose effort with 12 points.

Stat of the Game
The Blue Hose were held to 25.0% shooting in the second half, while High Point was 46.7%, leading the Panthers to the 33-point win. PC finished with 32.7%, while HPU shot 50.9%. The Panthers edged the Blue Hose on the boards, 35-30. Turnovers were key with the Blue Hose committing 22, compared to 12 for HPU. That resulted in a 27-12 advantage in points off turnovers for the Panthers.

Will Adams hit two three-pointers and was five-of-13 from the field to lead the Blue Hose with 12 points. It was his third double-digit game in four tries. Darius Moore paced the team with seven rebounds. He also finished with eight points.

How It Happened
High Point opened up a 14-4 lead the first five minutes of the half, but a three-pointer from Darius Moore helped the Blue Hose cut the margin to six, 19-13, 11:21 on the clock. High Point made it a 10-point game again with a jumper by Austin White at 7:53. It was part of a 10-0 run to give the Panthers a 31-15 lead at 4:38. PC cut it to 10 off an 8-2 run, highlighted by threes from Reggie Dillard and Jo'Vontae Millner, before HPU ended the half with six unanswered to go to the locker room leading 39-23.

High Point led off the second half with an 8-2 run and led 47-25, 17:14 remaining. The Blue Hose were able to cut the margin to 18, 49-31, off a Will Adams three, at 15:57, but the Panthers outscored PC 23-6 over the next 10 minutes to take the 72-37 lead, 5:51 left. Moore’s three-pointer with 33 seconds left made it a 30-point game, but Luke Vargo followed it up with a three as time expired to give HPU the 77-44 win.

For the Record
PC drops to 4-13 overall and 0-6 in the Big South, while High Point improves to 8-10, 2-4.
