BRASELTON, GA – The Presbyterian College men’s golf team closed out play at the Bridgestone Match Play on Tuesday with a 4-1-1 victory over the 5th seeded High Point Panthers on the par-72, 7003-yard Legends Course at Chateau Elan.

PC was the sixth seed after shooting (611; 309, 302) in stroke play on Monday. The day featured several close matches with all but two going the full distance.

Carson Spears led off the Blue Hose with an up-2 victory over Christian Casingal. Hayden Ploeger needed a birdie on the final hole to knock off Brendan MacDougal. Harrison Fisher recorded an up-2 victory against AJ Hopkins with one hole remaining. Cole Patterson also took an up-2 victory over Davis Kiger. James Scott finished all square against Alec Weary. Weston Sanders fell against RJ Bartolomucci by two with one hole left.

Lipscomb would go on to win the Bridgestone Match Play after defeating Jacksonville 5-1.

The Blue Hose will next play at the Elon Phoenix Invitational from October 16-18 at the Alamance CC in Burlington, N.C.
