PC Notables
• PC is off to a 5-2 start to the season, matching last year's mark through seven games. The Blue Hose have won four straight games, one shy of the longest of winning streak in 2015.

• The Blue Hose have recorded double-digit hits in five of their seven games this season, while scoring no less than five runs in any game this year. PC has scored double-digit runs in back-to-back games (11 vs. Towson, 16 vs. Savannah State) for the first time since last season. PC is averaging a conference-leading 8.6 runs per game, which ranks 28th nationally, and 12.0 hits per game.
• On the mound, PC leads the Big South in strikeouts per nine innings with a 9.0 mark. It also leads the league in fielding percentage at .980.

Scouting La Salle
• La Salle enters play this weekend with a 0-7 record on the season. It opened the year with a four-game sweep at the hands of Big South opponent Winthrop, before being swept by Elon last weekend.

• The Explorers are led by Jared Melone, who is batting .375 with two doubles, three runs and four RBIs. As a team, LU is batting just .190 through the first seven games of the season.
• Luke Reilly leads La Salle on the bump with 1.93 ERA in two starts. He has allowed just two earned runs in 9.1 innings with opponents hitting .216 against him.

Offense Starting the Season Red Hot
• The Blue Hose are batting .327 with a .486 slugging percentage as a team through seven games. They have scored first in all seven games, while getting a run in the first inning in five of the seven. The Blue Hose have outscored its opponents 14-1 in the first inning this season.

Peter Johnson leads the team with a .591 average with a homer, seven runs and seven RBIs to go with a .773 slugging percentage, fourth-highest in the Big South, and a league-best .640 on-base percentage, ranking 10th nationally. The first baseman has a hit in five straight games, while having reached base in all seven this season.
Weston Jackson is batting .407 with a team-high eight runs and five RBIs in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak, dating to last season. He has four multi-hit games on the year with two multi-RBI games.
Jacob Midkiff is batting .393 with a team-high four doubles, while AJ Priaulx ranks second in the Big South with three home runs and eighth in the league with nine RBIs.

Blue Hose Rout Savannah State
• PC sent 22 batters to the plate and scored 12 runs in the first two innings to take down the Tigers, 16-1, on Wednesday afternoon. The 16 runs were the most for PC since last season when the Blue Hose reached 16 runs twice, both coming against USC Upstate.

• Johnson recorded a flawless 3-for-3 performance with a run and three RBIs, while Priaulx went 2-for-4 with a two runs and three RBIs. Jackson had a two-hit day with three runs and two RBIs, while Tyler Weyenberg and Midkiff each recorded two hits.
David Sauer earned the win in his first start of the year, allowing just one run on three hits with three strikeouts and three walks. Four PC relievers, Aaron Lesiak, Robert Moss, Logan Beegle and Russell Thompson, each tossed a scoreless frame in relief. The five pitchers combined to throw just 98 pitches in the win.
