BURLINGTON, NC – The Presbyterian College men’s golf team finished tenth at the Elon Phoenix Invitational on Tuesday with a cumulative score of 903. Senior Davis Parker tied for 24th with a score of 220 on the par-71 Alamance Country Club course.
Parker (Augusta, Ga) led the team for a third time this year, finishing at 220 (70, 75, 75). Weston Sanders (Greenwood, SC) shot 227 (76, 74, 77), Cole Patterson (Travelers Rest, SC) shot 228 (77, 75, 78) and Hayden Ploeger (Aiken, SC) shot 229 (75, 79, 75). Park Brady (Saint Simons Island, Ga) shot 235 (78, 81, 76).
East Carolina placed five golfers within the top-10 and easily won the tournament by a margin of 23 strokes over the runners-up from Charleston Southern. VCU’s Adam Ball recorded a final round of -4 to hold off the field and earn individual medalist honors at 204 (-9).
The Blue Hose shot 903 (298, 303, 302) en route to finishing 10th of 16 competing teams. They will play next at the Palmetto Collegiate, from October 23-25, at the Camden CC.
