HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team rounded out their road trip with a 3-0 loss to High Point at the Millis Center in High Point, N.C. The Panthers took the sets 25-14, 25-12 and 25-22.
The Blue Hose fell to 3-17, 1-6 in the Big South Conference, while the Panthers improved to 15-7, 5-1 on the year.
Rachel Elshoff led the Blue Hose with 12 kills and added seven digs, while Jaclyn Brewington powered PC with 23 assists and 14 digs. Sierra Davis registered eight kills and Sara Rogers gathered eight digs.
Samantha Del Toro led the charge for the Blue Hose with a .333 attacking percentage. PC had a total of 52 digs, 28 kills and 28 assists in the match.
After dropping the first two sets, the Blue Hose rallied in the third set. PC never led in the match, but had the set tied five times. They scored three of four points to pull within a point at 11-10 and tied the set for the last time at 12-12 on an attacking error by High Point.
The Blue Hose snagged three-straight points with a kill by Brewington, assisted by Elshoff, brought the match within a point at 20-19. PC pulled within a point again at 23-22 with an attacking error by the Panthers before High Point ended the match on two straight points.
Presbyterian plays its final non-conference match of the year 7 p.m. Wednesday in Spartanburg, S.C.
