CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men’s soccer team fell 5-1 to Georgia State Tuesday night at Martin Stadium.

The Blue Hose dropped to 0-7, while the Panthers improved to 4-3 on the year.

Four goals were scored in under the first 10 minutes of the game. Tristen Trevino struck first in the second minute to give the Panthers an early 1-0 lead.  Eddie Wilding scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season in the fourth minute for the Panthers with a pass from Casey Shultis.

Onyemachi Provost (Aiken, S.C.) responded for the Blue Hose in the sixth minute with a head ball from Jake Fuller to tighten the gap to 2-1. Casey Shultis found the back of the net in the eighth minute with a pass from Eddie Wilding to end the scoring in the first half and gave the Panthers a 3-1 heading into the locker room.

Max Hemmings scored in the 66th minute on a header off a corner kick from Eddie Wilding. Jad Elkhalil converted on a penalty kick in the 85th minute to end the scoring at 5-1 for Georgia State.

Connor Behrend (St. Simons Island, Ga.) collected a team best seven saves in 71 minutes of play, while Johnny Archer (Charlotte, N.C.) gathered one save in 19 minutes.

The Blue Hose begin Big South conference play against Radford 2 p.m. Saturday at Martin Stadium.
