WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team fell to Stetson 3-1 in the second of three matches in the Courtyard by Marriott Volleyball Classic at UNC Wilmington.

The Blue Hose fell to 2-10 while the Hatters went to 5-7 on the season. Stetson won the first set 25-9 and the second set 25-23 before PC took the third set 25-19. The Hatters finished the fourth set 25-12 to capture the victory.

In the second set, Stetson jumped out to a 15-12 lead before the Blue Hose battled back to capture the lead 18-15. The Hatters tied the score at 19-19 before they jumped out to a 22-19 lead. The Blue Hose pulled within one three times before the set ended at 25-23.

The third set was tied three times with the last being 16-16, but the Blue Hose never trailed in the set. Presbyterian outscored the Hatters 9-3 after the final tie in the third set to win 25-19 to force an extra set.

Ashton Stewart (Hartwell, Ga.) led the Blue Hose with 10 kills while Jaclyn Brewington (Holly Springs, N.C.) provided 19 assists and Mikayla Register (Woodruff, S.C.) strung together 15 digs.

Presbyterian plays their final match in the Courtyard by Marriott Volleyball Classic at 5 p.m. today against Maryland-Eastern Shore.
