MACON, Ga. – Presbyterian College got dropped 2-0 by Mercer Friday night at Bear Field. The Bears scored a goal in each half to collect the victory.

The Blue Hose fell to 0-6-0 on the season while the Bears generated their first winning record of the season and improved to 4-3-0.

Mercer’s Conner Antley found the back of the net in the seventh minute to give the Bears an early 1-0 lead.

PC fouled a Mercer player inside the 18-yard box to give the Bears a penalty kick. Blue Hose goalie Connor Behrend (St. Simons Island, Ga.) saved the opportunity by Max Poore.

Kobe Perez scored for Mercer in the 78th minute. The Bears had a free kick outside the 18 that Perez took before the Blue Hose defense was ready that ended up giving the Bears the 2-0 win.

Jonathan Turnley (Manhattan, Kan.) led the Blue Hose with two shots and put one on frame. 

Behrend generated three saves in his first start of the season as PC’s goalie.

Presbyterian begins a three game home stand 6 p.m. Tuesday against Georgia State at Martin Stadium.
