DAY 8: Final full day in London and PC aimed to get the most out of it. The Blue Hose toured the Tower of London area before breaking apart for a full day of museum attending, sightseeing, shopping and seeing shelter from the rain in a cold day in England's capital city.
Several Blue Hose made their way to the King's Cross railway station to visit the famed Platform 9 3/4 from the Harry Potter series (today's picture) and others checked out the Victoria and Albert, Natural History and National Portrait Gallery museums. Another memorable moment saw tourgoers walk across the world-famous pedestrian crossing at Abbey Road from The Beatles' 1969 album of the same name.
In the evening, the theatre discrict called many to catch a show. Several Blue Hose saw Wicked, while others took in Les Misérables or The Phantom of the Opera.
After the team's final night in London, the group will head to Heathrow in the morning for the flight back to the United States. What a trip it's been!
The photo gallery has been updated with all of the photos through Day 8. Check back for more video and photos once we get back!
DAY 7: Thursday marked the first of two days in London for the Blue Hose. The tour took the group into Parliament Square, traveling through Knightsbridge and seeing famous sights like 10 Downing Street, Big Ben, Parliament and more. The group split up and walked around London for most of the day before heading to Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC, for the UEFA Women's Champions League Final between Olympique Lyonnais and VfL Wolfsburg.
The German club Wolfsburg won the final, 1-0, thanks to a second-half penalty kick goal by Martina Müller. The Blue Hose visited the Chelsea team store and took a picture in front of historic Stamford Bridge, seen in today's picture.
Friday will return PC back to London for the team's final full day in Britain before departing for America on Saturday.
DAY 6: London, and a sweep to boot! PC departed Liverpool in the morning and took a two-hour trip to Oxford en route to London. While in Oxford, PC toured the school's buildings and took in some historic monuments. Then, the players traveled to the house of Rachael Parks' family for tea and sweets. The family treated the Blue Hose to tea, elderflower and milk with coffee cake, ginger cake, cookies and more to go along. After tea, the team walked through the neighborhood and visited the Thames River nearby (where today's picture was taken).
After Oxford, the team made the trek to London and played Denham United Ladies FC and completed the sweep of the United Kingdom with a 3-1 win over the home side. Sara Simpson scored first when Emily Boggus split the defense with a through ball that found Simpson past the back line. Simpson then tucked the ball away for the game's first goal.
Following halftime, PC took a 2-0 lead when a Denham defender headed a Brittany Whitson cross into her own net. Alison Stelling capped the scoring to put PC ahead, 3-0. Denham then scored a late goal for the 3-1 final.
Food with Denham and a trip to the hotel ended the day. Sightseeing in London and attending the UEFA Women's Champions League Final at Stamford Bridge awaits on Thursday!
DAY 5: Big Tuesday for the Blue Hose. PC explored Liverpool in the morning, with most players and parents hitting the shops and taking tours of the city while head coach Brian Purcell took a tour of the Maritime Museum (the Titanic left from Liverpool, you know) and others looked into The Beatles' history with the port city.
After lunch, the team headed to Chester, a small town near the Wales-England border. The city's 2,000-year-old walls patrolled by Roman soldiers and the tour took to the Chester streets in the afternoon, checking out the town's quaint charms and historic beauty.
Following Chester, game time took precendence. A short drive through Wales brought the group to the English town of Oswestry for an evening match against TNS Ladies FC. The Blue Hose rolled past the younger side, 9-1, thanks to a hat trick from Sara Simpson and two goals from Tori Lopez. Four players netted one goal apiece in Catie Smith, Kelly Kozera, Brittany Whitson and Emily Boggus while Jordan Broadway and Sydney Fontenot tended the net. Rebecca Miller and Sophie Cobb pushed the attack while Allison Stelling picked up an assist on Catie Smith's first-half score.
Recent alumnus Alice Blackwell patrolled the back line with Hannah Gaither, who made a sliding stop to halt a breakaway chance in the second half. Kozera scored from long range and Lopez's second goal proved one of the most exciting, heading in a Catie Smith cross from a sharp angle.
Following the match, the two sides met in the clubhouse for snacks and bowling. Both sets of players hung out and discussed soccer, school and the differences between America and the United Kingdom.
PC will depart Liverpool on Monday morning and head for London. On the way, the tour will stop in Oxford and the evening will see the Blue Hose play their final match Great Britain against Denham United.

DAY 4: Monday served as a travel day for the Blue Hose, as the group left Scotland for the famous English city of Liverpool. On the way, the tour stopped in the border down of Greta Green, where young couples frequently eloped to avoid England's marriage laws. The trip pressed on through the English Lake District, providing some amazing countryside visits as quaint sheep farms in front of misty mountains gave away to stunning lakes and streams with towns nestled on the slopes.
PC stopped in Grasmere for lunch, a small lake village famous for producing and inspiring its Romantic poet William Wordsworth (roadside daffodils included). The Blue Hose munched on fish and chips, quiche and sandwiches before checking out the shops and scenic photo opportunies (today's picture is from Grasmere).
The trip continued with a winding drive through the rest of the Lake District before moving on to Liverpool, where the team arrived around 5 p.m. local time. Some rested and some ventured out before a dinner of lasagna and soup at the downtown hotel. A night in the port city (famous for The Beatles) awaits before a Tuesday afternoon excursion that will send the Blue Hose to an evening matchup against TNS Ladies FC in Chester, a city close to the Welsh border.
Due to improved Internet in Liverpool, a photo gallery from the first day of the trip is now available in the "Related Links" box, as are highlights from Sunday's 4-1 win over Viewfield in Scotland.
DAY 3: Sunday sent PC to Glasgow on a comfortable Sunday day of the trip. The Blue Hose took a short bus tour of Glasgow and stopped the bus at George Square. Players, coaches and family spread out to explore the city and grab lunch before heading west to play local club Viewfield. PC provided a strong effort, controlling the play until Sara Simpson broke through close to halftime to put PC ahead 1-0. Stephanie Allen chipped a ball over the defense to Simpson, who beat the challenging keeper for the score.
Catie Smith also produced scoring chances. The Scottish side evened the score midway through the second half but the Blue Hose had an answer. Three answers, in fact. Alison Stelling stuffed home an opportunity following an Emily Boggus chance from Catie Smith and Simpson. Simpson then sprung Tori Lopez for a goal and a Christy Schofer shot produced a rebound for Simpson that iced the match, 4-1. Jordan Broadway played a shutout first half and Sydney Fontenot made several saves in the second half.
The team then headed home to Stirling for a well deserved meal and its final night in Scotland. Monday calls for a trip to Liverpool as PC makes its way into England.
Today's picture is from a postgame meeting between the Blue Hose and Viewfield.
DAY 2: The second day of the trip saw PC women's soccer visit the capital city of Edinburgh. Scotland provided its famous weather of cold and rain, but that didn't deter the Blue Hose. First, the team drove through the city and took in the Royal Mile. Then, the team hopped out of the bus to visit Edinburgh Castle before checking out the local (and other, world-famous) shops and sights, including the home of Deacon William Brodie--the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Following an afternoon on the town, the team headed to Easter Road Stadium for a Scottish Premier League match between the home side Hibernian Football Club and Dundee. Hibernian (known familiarly as Hibs) cruised past the relegated visiting team in a 1-0 win on a beauitful header from David Wotherspoon in the second half.
After a sightseeing drive and an evening meal, the Blue Hose rested up for a Sunday match in Glasgow. PC will take on the Viewfield Rovers of Scotland's Second Division in Glasgow at 2 p.m. local time.
Today's picture is from in front of Edinburgh Castle.
DAY 1: The Blue Hose have landed in Scotland! After a long day of travel, PC arrived in Stirling in the early evening. A lovely meal followed (including a meat pie option) and then the team took a night walk to Stirling Castle. The sun sets later here, so plenty of light allowed for great dusk shots. The Internet's a bit slow at the hotel but we'll do our best to upload photos soon.
Today's (Saturday's) plans include a tour of the capital city Edinburgh and a Scottish Premier League game. More to follow!
A spot of trouble early. Our overnight fight from Atlanta to London went off without a hitch, but our connecting flight to Scotland took off without us. Currently the Blue Hose are keeping stiff upper lips around Heathrow airport before a 4:40 p.m. (five hours ahead of U.S. Eastern time) flight to Edinburgh.
