Sixty-two student-athletes were invited to participate in graduation ceremonies held at Presbyterian College's campus Saturday, May 11, 2013.
"I'm very excited for our graduating student-athletes and proud of their accomplishments," said Brian Reese, Director of Athletics. "Graduation is always a great day here at Presbyterian College.”
Football saw the most graduates with 15, while women's basketball followed with six. Baseball and lacrosse saw five graduate while softball, cheerleading and the dance team had four.
Three each from men's golf, women's golf and women's soccer walked across the stage and men's basketball, men's soccer, men's tennis and volleyball
Men's cross country, women's cross country and women's tennis graduated one apiece.
20 student-athletes graduated with honors, including women's tennis' Lindsay Krause, who graduated summa cum laude. Krause earned Honors in Psychology as well.
Seven athletes graduated magna cum laude as baseball's Tim Corbin, women's cross country's Emily Witt, women's golf's Micah Dowling, lacrosse's Melinda Vasconcellos, men's soccer's Newt Turk, women's soccer's Townley Cheek, dance team's Eliza Truett and Courtney Murray and men's tennis's Andrew Brigham took home the honors.
Earning cum laude degrees were Kelly Wright, Robby Swab, Mariah Pietrowski, Brian Trail, Det Cullum, Kyleen Carpenter, Shawn Armstrong, Liz Davis, Alice Blackwell, Abi Thompson, Morgan Durham, Julianne Lenti and Edward Snead.
Several student assistants from football, basketball and soccer also took part in graduation ceremonies.
"We will miss our athletes and what they have accomplished here at PC but we're excited for them as they open the next chapter in their life."
