The Presbyterian College softball team closes out the regular season this weekend at home as the Blue Hose host Charleston Southern May 4-5. The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m., and a single game Sunday at the same time. Seniors Morgan Durham, Mary Ellen Morris, Tera Powell and Cat Tarvin will be honored in pre-game festivities before the doubleheader.
The games Saturday will be streamed live on www.BigSouthSports.com as part of the Big South Network, presented by State Farm.
The Blue Hose are 22-28 overall and 7-14 in the Big South and have won their last three of four, including two from Longwood last weekend. Leading the offense for PC is Erin Ruff who is batting .326 with 32 RBI. She is one of three players with over 30 RBI. Kersten Legacki paces the team with 35 RBI, while Shelby Petik, who leads the team with 11 home runs, is third with 34.
Kensley Loudermelk has been solid in the circle lately and posts a 4.30 ERA with a 12-13 record. She leads the team with 96 strikeouts in 145.0 innings pitched.
The Blue Hose will next travel to Rock Hill, S.C., for the Big South Tournament May 9-12. Seedings will be determined at the conclusion of the regular season Sunday.
