Dowling, Goodman Lead Blue Hose At Big South Championship

Ninety Six, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's golf team finished the 2013 Big South Women's Golf Championship with another strong round of 313 en route to earning ninth place.

The Blue Hose shot a combined 948 (313, 322, 313) on the par-72, 6,083 yard course, beating the team's previous course (950) and third round (322) bests which were both set in 2010.

Senior Micah Dowling (Orlando, Fla.) and junior Kalie Goodman (Easley, S.C.) tied for 23rd to lead the team. Dowling shot 233 (78, 78, 77) while Goodman shot a collegiate-best 233 (78, 79, 76).

Freshman Libby Crawford (Chapin, S.C.) shot 244 (79, 85, 80) to tie for 37th. Senior Kim Carpenter (Tampa, Fla.) shot 246 (85, 81, 80) to earn 39th place. Freshman MJ Nogay (Silver Spring, Md.) claimed 43rd with a three-round score of 250 (78, 84, 88).

Coastal Carolina won the 2013 Big South Women's Golf Championship with a team score of 880 (292, 296, 292) and four golfers in the top-10. The Chanticleers also boasted individual medalist Brittany Henderson, the first back-to-back champion since 1999-2000, who shot 219 (73, 71, 75) to earn a one-stroke victory.

This concluded the season for the Presbyterian College women's golf team.
