CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Presbyterian College women's lacrosse
team will head to Cincinnati this weekend for a Sunday matchup against the
Bearcats. Opening draw is slated for noon.
PC (1-7) will look to halt a two-game losing streak
following a home 20-7 loss to Bucknell on Tuesday afternoon. The Blue Hose enter
the weekend with a 0-3 series record against Cincinnati (3-2) after losses in
2012, 2010 and 2009. Last year's meeting saw the closest result in history as
the Bearcats held off PC for a 20-16 win. The Blue Hose scored nine goals to the
Bearcats' 10 in the second half and Catherine Ellis (Charlotte, N.C.) led the
squad with four goals and one assist.
Ellis holds the team lead this season with 14 goals and 17
points. Lauren Lefeber (Waxhaw, N.C.) also has double-digits with 12 goals and
a team-high 18 draw controls. Mary Honan (Old Bridge, N.J.) paces PC in ground
balls, with 14, while Jaime Beamish (Memphis, Tenn.) leads the squad in

Country Day School and Madeline Taghon (Columbus, Ohio) attended Kilbourne High
School just over 100 miles away in Columbus.
Cincinnati has alternated wins and losses for a 3-2 record
and took a 7-3 victory from Big South Conference team Liberty on Thursday. The
team boasts a 2-0 home record and looks to Taylor Young (12 goals) and Kylie Ramsland
(12 goals) to lead the team in scoring. Meg Gulmi has seen every minute in net
for the Bearcats, averaging a .474 save percentage and a 9.96 goals against
average. The Bearcats next hit the road face BIG EAST team Georgetown on
Friday, March 22.
Following Sunday's match, PC returns home for a three-game
homestand that begins on Friday, March 22 at 6 p.m. against Kennesaw State. The
game will be played under the lights at Martin Stadium, home of PC soccer.
