CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Presbyterian College men's and women's
tennis teams collected Big South Conference honors on Wednesday, as Grayson Mills (Lilburn, Ga.) earned All-Conference Singles recognition while Ryan Walters (Greenwood, S.C.) and Lindsay Krause (Roswell, Ga.) garnered spots on
the league's All-Academic Teams.
Mills' All-Conference honor marks the first such recognition
in the sophomore's career. Mills went 10-7 overall on the year, including a 4-2
tally in the Big South. Mills picked up league wins against Gardner-Webb,
Radford, Coastal Carolina and Winthrop. The sophomore went on a three-match win
streak late in the season and also earned victories over Davidson, USC Upstate
and Kennesaw State.
Krause makes her second straight appearance on the women's
All-Academic Team as well. A 2010 ITA Scholar-Athlete, the junior maintains a
3.76 GPA as a psychology major and mathematics minor. Krause led the team in doubles
wins, with an 11-12 record. She also compiled a 5-6 singles record at the sixth
flight and picked up a Big South singles win against Charleston Southern.
Krause showed her versatility by going 3-1 at No. 2 doubles and 2-0 at No. 5
singles.
Walters received a spot on the men's All-Academic Team for
the first time in his career. The junior maintains a 4.0 grade point average as
a biology major and went 6-4 at No. 6 singles and 3-2 at No. 3 doubles this
season. Walters ended the season on a three-match singles win streak and picked
up wins against Robert Morris, Saint Joseph's and South Dakota State.
The PC men's team battles UNC Asheville on Thursday at 1:30
p.m. at the Big South Championship in Asheville, N.C.
