Blue Hose Open Big South Championship In Fourth

PC Finishes Up Day One of Kiawah Island Intercollegiate

The Presbyterian College women's golf team ended round one of the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate tied for 25th place out of 33 competing teams. The Blue Hose played round one at the par-72, 5,902-yard Oak Point course.

Junior Micah Dowling (Orlando, Fla.) shot a first round of 79 to tie for 57 and lead PC. Senior Kasay Holbrook (Dawsonville, Ga.) finished one stroke back to tie for 74th while senior Carrie McClenaghan (Greenville, S.C.) finished two back tied for 93rd. Juniors Kyleen and Kim Carpenter (Tampa, Fla.) shot 85 and 88 respectively, rounding out the day for the Blue Hose.

Augusta State was the only team to shoot under par, and holds a 17-stroke lead over second place Elon. The Jaguars' Natalie Wille, Casey Kennedy, and Christine Duschek-Hansen shot 69, 70, and 72 respectively to help establish Augusta State's 17-stroke lead and place them at the top of the individual leaderboards.

The Blue Hose will tee off for round two at the par-72, Cougar Point course on Monday.
