CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian
College athletics department is pleased to announce the addition of John Avery
as the Coordinator of Broadcast Services.
"We are very excited to have John Avery on board with Presbyterian College in
this capacity," Director of Athletics Brian Reese said. "John has been
tremendous in the community with his local broadcasts over the years. He brings
a wealth of experience in his continued role of being the voice of PC athletics
and will help increase the footprint of Presbyterian College as a Division
I institution. John will also be assisting Reese in corporate sponsorships and
will host the television shows for football and basketball."
Avery, who has been the voice of the Blue Hose the last three years for WLBG,
will continue that role for the upcoming 2010-2011 academic year. Over the
course of the last three years, Avery has broadcast numerous football, men's
basketball and women's basketball games. He has also broadcast a selected
number of baseball and softball contests, including PC's first-ever that was
video streamed on The Big South Network in both sports.
While making the move to be on board with PC, Avery is stepping away as the
voice of Laurens Raider athletics and his afternoon show on WLBG. However,
Avery will still produce a morning sports report for WLBG.
