CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College women's tennis team dropped a 6-1
decision to Atlantic Sun foe Mercer Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Hose now stand at 2-8 on the season.
PC's lone victory came in a three-set thriller at the No. 6 spot in singles
play. Rookie Lindsay Krause lost the first set 6-3 before bouncing back to win
6-4, 10-6.
Top-seeded Heather Heusel lost 6-0, 6-2 to Jennifer Lada while third-seeded
Paige Oelke played close with Amalia Bugge before losing 6-3, 6-3.
Megan Davis pushed Priscilla Dias to the brink in the second set at the No. 5
spot, but ultimately lost 6-0, 6-4.
In doubles action, Krause was able to pick up her second win of the day as she
teamed up with Megan Davis for a 9-7 victory over Sarah Hanna and Stephanie
Cohen. At the No. 2 spot, Olivia McMillan and Virginia Waldron lost a
hard-fought 8-6 contest to Dias and Anna Wieslander.
The Blue Hose return to action Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the College of
Charleston.
