CLINTON, S.C. ? The Presbyterian College men's and women's cross country teams reported back to campus under second year head coach Thad Palmer on Tuesday.
?
Both teams held their first practice on Wednesday and are amidst a rigorous two-a-day schedule that will prepare them for their second season of NCAA Division I racing.
?
“We got lucky today,” said Palmer Wednesday night.? “The rain came in today and cooled everything off just in time for our practices.? We started off with a good long run and look forward to something a little shorter and faster in the morning.”
?
Both the men's and women's teams are returning five lettermen from last season.? The women's team also added three walk-ons in the spring who have already had an impact on the team.
?
“Everybody reported back to preseason camp ready to improve.? I am truly excited at the fitness level of our upperclassmen, “ noted Palmer.? “This year we are going to continue laying the foundation for the program's future successes in NCAA Division I cross country.”
?
The Blue Hose first will travel to the USC Gamecock Invitational held at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. on Friday, August 29.? The men run at 6:30 pm and are followed by the women at 7:00 pm.
