CLINTON, S.C.- Presbyterian College head baseball coach Elton Pollock announced two National-Letter-of-Intent and nine Grant-in-Aid Agreement signings during the baseball signing period on Tuesday, July 23.

The Blue Hose in total had four players sign NLIs during in their 2007-08 signing class and 18 sign Grant-in-Aid agreements.

Signing the National Letter-of-Intent with PC in the spring of 2008 were Aaron Preston of Stratford High School in Goose Creek, S.C. and Andrew Foushee out of Aquinas High School in Augusta, Ga.

Preston comes to PC as an outfielder. An all-around athlete, Preston was All-Region in football and baseball at Stratford.

A two-time All-State selection (2007 and 2008), Preston was chosen All-Region and All-Lowcountry after the conclusion of his junior and senior seasons.

As a senior in 2008, Preston hit .413 with four home runs and 34 RBIs. He had 10 stolen bases.

On the gridiron, Preston was named All-Region in 2007. A wide receiver, Preston made 32 catches as a senior. He racked up 786 yards receiving and he caught one touchdown pass.

Preston is the second in his family to play a sport in college as his father, Frank Preston, played football and ran track at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio.

A pitcher, Foushee comes to PC as a three-time All-Region choice.

Foushee finished his senior year with only two losses from the hill. Overall, Foushee was 10-2 for Aquinas in 2008. He had a miniscule 1.87 ERA.

Foushee had nine more strikeouts (89) than innings pitched (80) during his senior season in 2008.

Foushee was awarded Aquinas' Ace Pitcher Award in 2008.

The Blue Hose also announced the addition of 2008 Blue Hose football signing Mickey Brewer to their incoming class.

On the gridiron, Brewer was a three-time North Carolina 4-A Southwestern-8 All-Conference pick. Brewer caught 20 or more passes in his final three seasons at Butler.

Brewer finished his senior season in 2007 with 52 catches for 824 yards and 10 touchdowns. He hauled in 59 catches for 1,220 yards and 15 touchdowns in his junior season in 2006 and brought in 23 catches for 352 yards and six touchdowns during his sophomore campaign in 2005.

In total for his career, Brewer caught 134 passes for 2,396 yards and 31 touchdowns.

A 2006 Rivals.com All-State selection, Brewer was also a two-time All-Charlotte Observer selection in high school. He was Butler's 2006 Best Wide Receiver and its 2007 Best Offensive Back.

Brewer was recently named to the Charlotte All-Observer Second Team as an outfielder.

Signing Grant-in-Aid Agreements for the Blue Hose this spring were Stewart Curry (Rock Hill, S.C.), William Freeman (Columbia, S.C.), Robert Gibbes (Columbia, S.C.), Anthony Micklon (Sumter, S.C.), Jordan Pace (Charleston, S.C.), Emmett Richardson (Columbia, S.C.) and Matthew Smith (Augusta, S.C.).

Overall, PC had two players entering their program next year named All-State in South Carolina. Preston was named All-State in AAAA, while Freeman was named All-State in AAA.

The Blue Hose had four players who are entering the program named to the North-South All-Star game. Preston will be joined in the game by Pace and 2007 early signees Ross Jackson (Anderson, S.C./T.L. Hanna) and Gabe Grammer (Columbia, S.C./Irmo).
