Nashville, Tenn. – Janie Miles scored in double figures for the fourth time in five games but it was not enough as Belmont made 12 three-pointers, seven coming in the first quarter, to defeat PC 90-48 on Friday morning in Nashville, Tenn.

Miles scored 11 points on three made three-pointers giving her 145 for her career. She moves into third place in PC Division I history ahead of Kristen Stevens and now eight behind Amanda Mills for second. Miles also finished with five assists to lead the team, while Mattie Kennedy led the way with five rebounds.

Belmont finished the game with 12 made three-pointers and shot 48 percent from three while also holding a 46-24 advantage in rebounds resulting in an 18-3 Bruins advantage in second chance points.
How it Happened
PC hung with Belmont for the first five minutes of game time as Miles’ first three of the game with 5:09 to play in the first quarter made it 7-5 Belmont. The Bruins would hit four three pointers of their own over the next two minutes to make it 19-5 before PC got back on the board. Overall, Belmont made seven three pointers in the first quarter and led 28-10 after one.
The Blue Hose came out and were more aggressive in the second period as they forced five Bruins turnovers in the second period. Belmont made just three three-pointers in the second period and the Blue Hose were only outscored by three in the second to trail 47-26 at the half.
PC came out attacking in the second half as Kennedy made the opening bucket. The two teams went back and forth the first four minutes offensively as neither team could stop the other. Belmont then went on a 9-0 run at the 4:09 mark to make it a 30-point game and the Bruins would go on to win.

Miles scored in double figures for the fourth time this season, all in the last five games, and 45 times for her career. This ties her with Cortney Storey for the most this season and most career double figure games of anyone on the team.
Riley Hemm played a season high 12 minutes.
Storey finished with at least four assists for the fifth consecutive game, this is her second career streak of five games with four or more assists. She also had four or more assists in each of the last five games of 2016-17.
With eight points Storey has 977 for her career and moves into third place in PC's Division I history passing Dria David who scored 976 from 2009-13.
Macee Tamminen scored a career high three points while making her first career three, tallying her first career assist and also recorded a career high two steals on 23 minutes played.
Kennedy tied her career high with four made field goals.
Ericka Blackwell-Boyden made a career high three field goals while tying her season and career highs in assists and blocks with one.
The Blue Hose travel to North Carolina on Tuesday, December 5 for a 6:00 p.m. tip. PC and UNC have faced each other twice with North Carolina winning both in 2009-10, and 2011-12.
