ROCK HILL, SC – The Presbyterian College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 2017 Winthrop/Adidas Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning. The women's team finished fifth in the gold division, while the men's team finished sixth.

Junior Sally Hart (16th) paced the women's team over the 5k course in a time of 20:38. Ripley Fricano (26th) was next for PC in 21:44, followed by Denise Devaney (34th) at 22:19 and Bea DiBona (37th) in 22:47. Hydia Green (42nd) was the final scorer for PC at 25:11. Kennedy Brooks (44th) was close behind in 25:50.

Wofford's Hannah Steelman finished first at 17:46 to run away with the women's race by a margin of 91 seconds. The Terriers won the women's team title with a low of 20 points. The Citadel (75), Winthrop (76), USC Upstate (77), PC (129) and SC State (170) rounded out the Division I teams.

Junior Duncan Gotfredson (29th) improved to run a season's best 28:05 to pace the men's team in the 8k race. Banner Plumb (42nd) was next for PC at 29:21 ahead of William Wise (45th) at 29:31. Neel Taber (49th) and Alex Johnson (54th) also competed for PC, finishing in 30:47 and 33:53 respectively.

Duke's Nikhil Pulimood won the men's 8k with a time of 25:15 and led the Blue Devils to the team title with 19 points. USC Upstate (73), Wofford (82), Winthrop (89), The Citadel (117), PC (162) and SC State (210) rounded out the men's Division I scores.

The Blue Hose will next compete at the UNC Asheville Invitational on Saturday, September 23. The men will run a 4-mile race at 9:00 am and be followed by a 2-mile race for the women at 9:30 am.
