Ohio scored two in the third and added an insurance run in the fourth to take a 3-0 win over the Presbyterian College softball team in Saturday’s game of the Carolina Classic, being held Feb. 10-12, in Columbia, S.C.

Hope Rogers collected her second career triple in as many days with a shot to left center in the sixth inning. Megan Anderson added a single in the fourth, with Presley Bissett recording a single in the third inning
How It Happened
After two scoreless innings, Ohio got on the board in the third with an inning opening walk. After a sacrifice bunt advanced the runner to second, Jamie Wren brought in the game-winner with a RBI single to right. Alex Day brought her home with a single to center to give Ohio the early 2-0 lead. A RBI single by MacKenzie Brunswick in the fourth drove home Madison Claytor, who had reached on a single herself, to make it a 3-0 game.
Ohio finished the game with three runs off seven hits and had no errors. PC posted three hits and no errors. Danielle Stiene picked up the win for Ohio, going 7.0 innings and surrendering just three hits, while striking out 13. Kaylee Allen started for PC, going 5.1 innings and giving up three runs off six hits, while striking out one. Natasha Sherrod came in relief for 1.2 innings, surrendering no runs offf one hit, with one strikeout.

PC moves to 1-2, while Ohio goes to 3-1.
The Blue Hose continue Carolina Classic play Sunday, Feb. 12, with a 12:30 game against host South Carolina.
