UNC Asheville shot 58.3% in the first half to build a double-digit lead early and take the eventual 73-47 win over the Presbyterian College men’s basketball team in Big South action Thursday evening at the Templeton Center in Clinton, S.C. PC hit seven three-pointers, with Reggie Dillard and Darius Moore each recording three.

Dillard led the team with 15 points off a season-high three three-pointers. Moore was close behind with 13 points, going three-of-six from the perimeter as well.

Stat of the Game
UNC Asheville hit 12 three-pointers, compared to seven for PC, and held a 25-7 advantage in points off turnovers. The Bulldogs were able to build a large lead early after shooting 58.3% in the first half, compared to 39.1% for PC. The Bulldogs finished the game with 47.4%, to PC’s 38.0%. Rebounds were fairly even with Asheville holding the 34-27 edge.

How It Happened
A close game early PC cut the margin to just one of an Austin Venable lay-up, to trail 11-10, 13:20 to go in the first half. UNC Asheville responded with 10 unanswered to jump out to a 21-10 lead, 10:30 on the clock. Back to back Dillard lay-ups cut it to seven, 21-14. The Bulldogs hit four three-pointers in a 12-2 run to take the lead to 17, 33-16, 5:55 before intermission. Jo'Vontae Millner ended nine straight by Asheville with his first three of the night to make it a 14-point game at the 4:21 mark. The Bulldogs would close out the half with a 7-2 run to head to the locker room with the 19-point, 40-21 lead.

Asheville extended its lead to 24 off nine unanswered, before a Dillard three cut the margin to 51-30, 11:50 to go. Down by 26 with just over nine to play, PC used an 8-3 run, highlighted by two three-pointers from Moore, to cut the margin to 21, 61-40, 5:17 left. That would be as close as PC would get as Asheville closed out the game with the 73-47 win.

Notables
Reggie Dillard posted his second straight double-digit game with 15, after hitting a season-high three three-pointers.

Darius Moore was just shy of his career-best with 13 on the night. He was three-of-six from the perimeter and was only three short of tying his career-high 16 points.

PC recorded at least seven three-pointers for the ninth time this season.

For the Record
PC drops to 4-16 overall and 0-9 in the league, while UNC Asheville improves to 14-8, 5-3.
