Radford shot over 68% in the second half and used a late 19-9 run to pull away late, taking the 76-63 win over the Presbyterian College men’s basketball team in Big South action Saturday afternoon at the Templeton Center in Clinton, S.C. Radford went to the line 26 times, making 20 of them, compared to just five-of-nine for the Blue Hose. Radford also shot 51.1% from the field, including 68.2% in the second half, to keep PC at bat. Presbyterian shot 36.8% in the game and had just seven turnovers, to Radford’s 12. The Blue Hose converted those to 22 points. The Highlanders controlled the boards, 38-33, but it was PC with the better second chance points number, 29-11.

How It Happened
A single digit margin for most of the first half, PC trailed by just five, 12-17, off a Ruben Arroyo jumper at the 9:14 mark. Radford responded with a 12-3 run to build a 29-15 lead, five minutes to play in the half. Will Adams hit is second three-pointer of the afternoon, igniting a 12-2 run to cut the margin to just four, 31-27, 1:29 left. A small 4-2 run at the end of the half gave Radford a 35-29 lead heading to the locker room.

A four-point game at 35-39 early in the second half turned into a 51-39 lead for Radford off a 12-4 run that spanned five minutes. A Millner three at 10:53 cut the margin to nine, 53-44, but five unanswered made it a 14-point game, 58-44, 9:57 on the clock. PC cut the lead to 10 off another Adams’ tree at the 6:16 mark, but that would be as close as the home team would get as Radford came away with the 76-63 win at the end.

Notables
The 68 field goals attempted is tied for eighth in the PC Division I record books, the five team blocks tied for 15th.

The eight three-pointers tied for the third highest this season, the five blocks tying for the season-high.

For the Record
PC drops to 4-11 overall and 0-4 in the league, while Radford improves to 8-8, 3-1.
