CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team hits the road for its lone midweek game on Tuesday, heading to Cullowhee, N.C., to square off against the Western Carolina Catamounts at 5 p.m.
PC (10-21-1, 3-9 Big South) dropped three games at Campbell over the weekend and will look to snap a 12-game skid on Tuesday at Western Carolina before hosting Winthrop this weekend. Jacob Midkiff (Rock Hill, S.C.) leads the team with a .333 average, with Brad Zebedis (Rock Hill, S.C.) at .325 (and a .420 on-base percentage). Cam McRae (Darlington, S.C.) extended his RBI lead to 19 on the year over the weekend.
The Blue Hose hold a 27-17 scoring edge in the third inning. PC will play four of its next five games at home and aims to build on a 5-5-1 record at the PC Baseball Complex.
Western Carolina (20-9, 8-1 Southern) will bring a nine-game winning streak into Tuesday's contest following a road sweep of UNC Greensboro over the weekend. Cody Jones leads the team with a .355 batting average and a .439 on-base percentage while Adam Martin boasts a .324 batting average and a team-leading 41 RBI. The Catamounts also take a .298 team batting average and a 4.30 team ERA into Tuesday's contest.
PC returns home after the game to host Winthrop in a three-game series beginning on Friday at 3 p.m.
