Baseball Treks to Campbell for Weekend Series, Friday Night Game on ESPN3

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College baseball team heads to Campbell this weekend for a three-game set against the Camels. The two teams play Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN3, Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. in a series originally scheduled for a Saturday doubleheader that has since been changed.

PC (10-18-1, 3-6 Big South) did not play a midweek game this week and look to improve its fourth-place standing in the Big South Conference's South Division, currently tied with Gardner-Webb. Jacob Midkiff (Rock Hill, S.C.) leads the team with a .340 batting average, one point ahead of Brad Zebedis (Rock Hill, S.C.) who leads PC with a .435 on-base percentage. PC holds a 7-0 record when leading after the first inning and Beau Dees (Blenheim, S.C.) picked up his 40th strikeout of the season on Friday against Liberty.

Cam McRae (Darlington, S.C.) ranks sixth in the Big South Conference in home runs (four) and Zebedis ranks sixth in on-base percentage (.435). On the pitching side, Dees stands tied for sixth in strikeouts while Paul Sanders (St. Simons Island, Ga.) and Ethan Wortkoetter (Greer, S.C.) rank third and fifth in appearances with 16 and 15, respectively. Wortkoetter also checks in with the No. 8 spot in earned run average in Big South games, maintaining a 1.74 ERA against conference competition.

Campbell (19-10, 5-4) enters the weekend in fourth place in the conference's North Division. The Camels have dropped their last three games with midweek losses to North Carolina State (9-2, 12 innings) and Elon (2-1). Campbell took the first two games of its home series against High Point last weekend and went on a five-game winning streak in late February. John Reilly leads the team in batting average (.333) and Matt Nadolski's 24 RBI paces the Camels in that category and ranks third in the Big South.

Camels reliever Ryan Thompson leads the Big South in ERA, with a 0.20 marker and a 4-0 record with 44.0 innings pitched. Starter Ryan Koopman sits in sixth with a 2.13 ERA and position player Danny Pardo leads the league in walks (21) and ranks second in runs scored (30). The Camels swept PC in a three-game series last season in Clinton.

Following this weekend's series, PC heads to Western Carolina on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. game against the Catamounts in Cullowhee, N.C.
