Women's Tennis Releases 2013 Schedule

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team will host 13 matches in 2013 as the Blue Hose aim for a successful spring, head coach Catherine Dunagan said today in releasing the season schedule.

“We are very excited for our spring season,” said Dunagan. “The team has been putting in work throughout the fall in preparation for our first season as a full Division I program. Our schedule should set us up to play our best tennis during Big South Conference matches as we look to get better every day.”

The 2013 campaign begins at home on Saturday, January 26, against USC Upstate.

The Blue Hose then head to Georgia Southern the next day before returning home for four straight matches at Templeton Tennis Courts against Newberry and Delaware on February 2, Savannah State (February 5) and Western Carolina (February 10).

Big South Conference play begins on Sunday, February 17 at Longwood followed by a road match at Gardner-Webb on February 19.

Three more home matches await PC next, against North Carolina A&T (February 23), Appalachian State (February 24) and Winthrop (February 28).

The squad then hits the road for Orlando, Fla., during Spring Break. While there, the Blue Hose will battle Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, South Dakota State, St. Joseph's and Saginaw Valley State.

PC battles nearby non-conference foe Wofford in Spartanburg on March 13 before hosting East Carolina on March 15 and Albany on March 18.

Conference road action wraps up with three straight away matches at Charleston Southern (March 22), Liberty (March 28) and Radford (March 29).

The Blue Hose enter the literal home stretch, hosting Campbell (April 6), Coastal Carolina (April 7) and UNC Asheville (April 10) in a five-day span.

PC will play all season with the team's sights set on the Big South Conference Women's Tennis Championship in Rock Hill, S.C., on April 18-20.
