PC Announces 2010-2011 Schedule

CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College athletics department, in conjunction with director of tennis operations Patric Hynes, is pleased to announce the 2010-11 women's tennis schedule.

The Blue Hose will compete in four fall tournaments before opening the spring season Feb. 5 at Kennesaw State.


During the fall, Hynes' group will open at USC Upstate (Sept. 17-19) before taking a couple of weeks away from the court. PC will then head to Elon from Oct. 8-10 for its second fall event. The Blue Hose will be back in action Oct. 21-23 at the women's regional in Chapel Hill, N.C. The fall season concludes with a  two-day event at Wofford (Nov. 6-7).


After the spring season-opener against the Lady Owls, PC hosts three consecutive matches, the first of which is Feb. 6 against Western Carolina. The following day, the Blue Hose will entertain regional rival Newberry. On Feb. 10, PC will play host to USC Upstate.


Hynes' squad hits the road for two matches, the first of which is Feb. 13 at N.C. A&T. Five days later, fans can travel to nearby Wofford to see the Blue Hose take on the Terriers.


Blue Hose Nation has the chance to watch their team in action twice on Feb. 19. PC will host Converse that morning before taking on Appalachian State in the afternoon.


The Blue Hose open their conference schedule Feb. 23 at Gardner-Webb. A day later, the team steps out of league play to host East Carolina.


After a spring break trip, PC will head to Farmville, Va., to take on Longwood March 11. The following day, the Blue Hose will re-enter Big South play with a date at Liberty. The team will be trying to win its second straight match over the Flames.


On March 19, the Blue Hose host USC-Lancaster. A week later, PC hits the road for a contest at Charleston Southern. Three of its final four matches of the season are in front of the home fans. The Blue Hose host Coastal Carolina (March 30) and Winthrop (Apr. 1) before hitting the road for another trip to Virginia. This time, PC will take on Radford Apr. 3.


Hynes' team concludes the season by hosting UNC Asheville Apr. 10.
