CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College junior
pitcher Matt Nodelman picked up a first team All-River Valley League nod
earlier this week as the summer baseball season closed for 2010. The Blue Hose righty had a stellar season for
the Waves of Iowa's River Valley League earning a 5-0 record on the mound with
18 strikeouts in 36 innings of work.
Nodelman, a
native of Columbia, S.C., went five innings or more in all five of his starts
earning a decision in four outings. His
season ERA was 4.00, but removing the seven earned runs in his last outing
would reduce the hurler's ERA to a tidy 2.68.
In his season debut on June 16, Nodelman went six innings of shutouts,
three-hit ball to start the season off with a 9-0 win for the Waves who won the
league championship.
Last season,
Nodelman saw ten appearances in relief for the Blue Hose, accounting for 6.2
innings of work.
The 2011 Blue
Hose return to campus late in August to begin classes and preparations for the
new season.
